A hand-carved turtle cut and polished from a single piece of natural Amethyst , transparent to translucent purple quartz.

**Amethyst.** The purple variety of crystalline quartz (silicon dioxide), with colour caused by iron impurities and natural irradiation. Ranges from pale lilac to deep violet.

Because each carving is made from a single piece of natural stone, colour, pattern and dimensions vary slightly between pieces.
