About this piece

Amethyst. The purple variety of crystalline quartz (silicon dioxide), with colour caused by iron impurities and natural irradiation. Ranges from pale lilac to deep violet.

Because each carving is made from a single piece of natural stone, colour, pattern and dimensions vary slightly between pieces.

Care

Display on a soft surface to protect the polished finish. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (some stones fade) and keep dry.
